The right time. When is that exactly? We often put off making big decisions, or changes that feel uncomfortable, because we are waiting for a better time, or the right time.

And yet, somehow that right time never arrives – there is always another reason not to do it. That’s because our survival mechanism, the part of us that wants to keep us safe, comfortable and protected, will find something else in the way. Something to keep us where we are, in our comfort zone, not out there in the unknown. It will find all of the bad things that might happen if we do it now, to persuade us that we shouldn’t.

What it doesn’t do is remind us of what is possible if we do take that step. Transformation happens when we take these steps now. Not tomorrow, next week or next month. I experienced this when I stepped into coaching. I didn’t quite know how it was going to go, and I certainly had no idea whether it would work out. And yet I pushed through the discomfort and took the step – I quit my job to do what I’m passionate about full time. I’m now discovering a whole new world of possibility, with so many things I can create, and I’m able to make a difference to so many people.

Consider what is in your life that you’ve been putting off. What have you been waiting for? What possibility would you create if you did that thing today?
